I had such a fun time a few weekends ago; a friend of mine serves as an advisor to her college sorority here in town, and they had me come to their Mom's Tea to do some photos of their group. They made me feel so welcome, and it was so much fun to shoot this happy group of women. (Plus, I kind of felt like I was back in college, and wanted to move in to their sorority house. They were all just so fun!) Just a quick peek of the ladies of AXD below. Thanks for having me, girls!
This spring has been a funny one... cold, then warm, then rainy and cold again. Outside shooting has been unpredictable at best, so I was really excited to get to do the kind of session I love best: a family in their home.
Morgan and Ryan asked me to come take some photos with their new baby boy and their two year old at home, which they are actually in the process of selling; they were set to move the week after we did this shoot, so I love that we got some photos of them in the house where they brought their babies home. Isla is SO much fun (she liked playing with my camera, and I was happy to oblige... photographer in the making, perhaps?) and baby River was so mellow and calm. Here are just a few of the digital shots I got... I'll be picking up their film scans from the lab on Monday, and I can't wait to see how they turn out!
I had so much fun at Kate and Micah's wedding that I seriously wished I was a guest, rather than the photographer. Their families and friends were AMAZING, Mercury Hall was gorgeous, there was Salt Lick Barbecue and CoolHaus ice cream sandwiches(and keg stands!)... well, I could go on, but this is just the sneak peek. So I'll save the REAL wordiness for a full post.
Kate and Micah, congrats!!
Sometimes you just need to run down the street with your kitty and a fairy skirt with wings.
I love sessions where I get to see how kids have grown up... I got to shoot some holiday photos of Michael and Anabel several months ago, so it was so fun to see how they've grown since then!
Michael just turned one, and Anabel is turning four soon, so we met up for a shoot in a new-to-me park near Wells Branch. Thank you to their mom, Monica (fun fact: we've known each other since high school in New Orleans!) for getting them all dressed up and ready to play!
Remember Whitney and Matt from these photos?
Well, I'm happy to be able to say that I got to be a part of their wedding day, too, which was such a fun and fantastic day! They were married at the Church at Horseshoe Bay, followed by their AMAZING reception at Spicewood Vineyard. My fantastic second shooter, Jessica, and I took a TON of photos, so I'm still going through all of them, but here's a sneak peak in the meantime.
Congrats, Matt and Whitney!!

I don't even know where to start with Lupe and Brian... from the moment we met, I felt like we had known each other for years. They're so comfortable to be around, and so happy together that it's impossible not to be happy around them. They're also one of the strongest couples I've ever had the pleasure of meeting; Brian's story is an inspiring one, and he and Lupe are an amazing reminder that you can never give up. (You can see more about Brian and his cancer battle on his website.)
Their wedding at Memory Lane Event Center in Dripping Springs was a gorgeous celebration of love, family and friendship, and I was so lucky to be there to witness it.
Lupe and Brian, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day... I am so happy for you both!
This past weekend, I had the good fortune to meet up with a fantastic family. Joyce, who is the mother and grandmother of this beautiful family, contacted me a few weeks ago; though she and her husband Rex live in New Mexico, they were going to be in Austin visiting their children and grandchildren and wanted to have some photos taken.
Well, as you'll see, I couldn't STOP taking photos. How fun is this lovely family?!
Elena and I have been close friends since we met in college, so hanging out with her this morning and getting some photos of her family was wonderful. Evan and Wesley are so excited about their new baby sister, and Carson was super-baby all morning.
Thank you, Elena and Davin! (And thanks for the granola bars, too... I actually got to have a couple before the girls gobbled them up.)
I had a great time meeting Erika for the first time this morning at the Capitol. It was typical Texas hot, but she was a trooper and we had a great time!
Erika just got her graduate degree in landscape architecture, so I loved getting shots of her with all of the greenery on the Capitol grounds. Her other reason for getting the photos is that she's been growing her hair out for Locks of Love and is about to make the chop, so she wanted documentation of how long it had gotten. She's getting almost a foot cut off! (That's dedication. I can hardly keep mine as long as it is without putting it in a ponytail every single day.)
Here are a few of my favorites from today.
And a stunner of her hair...
Thanks, Erika! I had a fabulous time hanging out with you!
This past weekend, I got to meet one of the most cheerful girls EVER... and she's barely a year old! Meet Elizabeth. (And may I just say that she let me hold her about 5 seconds after we met? I am smitten, I tell you.)
I had such a wonderful time meeting their whole family, and Elizabeth had a blast exploring Mayfield Park.
Thank you, Courtney, Thad and Elizabeth!
A couple weekends ago, I had a fantastic time taking pictures of the sweet-as-pie Long sisters. How cute are these girls?
We had so much fun running around the Capitol grounds, having snacks, and looking at all the flowers and oaks. Huge thanks to Larkin and Layne and their fabulous mom, Jennifer!
